Limestone 2"-4" Rock Construction Gravel
This 2"-4" Limestone rock is often used to start a road base where moderate moisture and water issues may cause the ground to be soft due to rain or low areas with standing water problems.
If extremely soft ground is the problem, you may have to start with a base of Class 1 Rip Rap and then add this 2"-4" Limestone over that, filling in the empty spaces in between the Class 1 rocks. Then, top the whole project in a couple layers of 1 1/2" Crusher Run to build the road surface up out of the softer ground. These road base products work together in that way, building roads, driveways, and parking lots. How many of these products you will need depends on the condition of the ground you are starting with… the softer the ground, the larger rock base your drive will need at the bottom.
This 2"-4" Limestone is also great in areas where you may want to slow down minor erosion, like on a bank or in a shallow drainage ditch.
